Nationwide Brokerage Solutions® is a registered trademark of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company and is comprised of four different companies: Insurance Intermediaries, Inc., Allied General Agency Company, Nationwide Exclusive Agency Risk Purchasing Group LLC and Premier Agency, Inc. However, Allied General Agency Company is still the legal entity name you will see on legal and regulatory documents such as brokerage contracts and other policy and appointment documents.
As part of NBS, Allied General Agency Company (AGA) is a wholesale brokerage operation. We only work with independent contractor agents who have executed a contract with Allied Insurance, Harleysville Insurance or that have other strategic relationships with Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company.
NBS offers agencies access to products that complement their existing portfolio and that help create and enhance client relationships. NBS has underwriting authority with numerous surplus lines carriers and garage markets. We also have access to many specialty markets for both commercial and personal lines risks. Our personal lines brokerage unit specializes in the placement of high value homes for the affluent market should your agency not have a direct contract with a carrier that writes high value homes.

All agents are required to sign and return a Brokerage Agency Agreement and supporting information. Please contact us for contracting information and indicate your Allied or Harleysville agency number.

NBS offers premium financing through IFC Insurance Finance Corporation of West Des Moines, IA.
We would be happy to offer a premium financing proposal along with your premium indication.
If you choose to use a different premium financing company, please advise the finance company to send premium payments to you and not Nationwide Brokerage Solutions. The policy is agency bill and NBS is not party to the financing agreement.
Marcy Pelecky – AVP, Brokerage Placement
Marcy Pelecky began her career with Nationwide in 2001. Before her current role as Associate Vice President, Brokerage Placement, with Nationwide Brokerage Solutions, she’s held positions including Associate VP of Sales for the Southwestern Regional Office and Sales Director, Personal Lines Director and Operations Director for the Rocky Mountain Regional Office.
Marcy received a master’s of business administration degree from Webster University and a bachelor’s of arts degree from Iowa State University. She has been recognized by Nationwide with several distinguished awards: CEO Award for Engagement (2013), National Sales Director of the Year (2013), Nationwide Insurance Life University Qualifier (2014) and Nationwide Award and Recognition Qualifier (2015).
Brett Larson – Personal Lines Brokerage & Accounting Manager
Brett Larson is the Brokerage Manager overseeing a team of six personal lines associates and a team of six accounting/surplus lines filing associates. He began his carrier with Allied in 2003 as a service representative in the Personal Lines Customer Call Center. He then moved into underwriting with Nationwide as they extended into the western part of the U.S. In 2007 he came to Allied General Agency as a personal lines broker and has progressed through similar roles but with increasing responsibility. Brett was promoted to the supervisor level in March 2014 and to the level of manager in April 2015. When not at work Brett enjoys spending time with his family while enjoying activities such as golfing, riding bicycle and going to ISU football & basketball games
Dan Syata – Commercial Lines Brokerage Supervisor
Dan Syata became a supervisor at Allied General Agency in September 2012. Dan joined Allied General Agency in 2008, holding positions as an Associate as well as Underwriter and Brokerage Placement Specialist. Dan began his career with Nationwide in the Commercial Lines Processing Center. Away from work, Dan enjoys spending time with his family attending his children’s sporting events or dance activities. Dan also enjoys being involved in youth activities and charities.Prior to joining Nationwide in 2006, Dan held various roles within the funeral industry for over 10 years. Dan graduated from Simpson College in Iowa with a bachelor of science in business management. He also has a degree in mortuary science from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.
Pamela Joyce - Agency Services Supervisor
Pamela Joyce has over 16 years experience with Nationwide. Pam began her career in the personal lines processing center and progressed through positions of increasing responsibility. These positions included sales agent for Nationwide Sales Solutions (Allied Group Insurance Marketing Company at the time), Senior Claims Representative, Quality Control Representative for the subrogation claims unit, and supervisor for Nationwide Sales Solutions where she managed 16 direct reports within their retention division. Pam came to Allied General Agency in May of 2007 after a reorganization of the claims department and has served as our Executive Secretary before becoming the supervisor of Allied General Agency's Agency Support area. Pam enjoys traveling and motorcycling with her husband Rich as well as spending time with her children.
Lana Popejoy - Accounting Supervisor
Lana Popejoy began her career with Nationwide in 2005 as a transcriptionist for the claims department. She joined Allied General Agency in 2009 in the accounting department, progressing through various positions of increasing responsibility and skill levels. She completed her bachelor's degree in accounting and was promoted to accounting supervisor in April 2016. In her free time, Lana enjoys spending time with her family, attending Special Olympics and school avtivities with her children, gardening, and music.
