FOOD & BEVERAGE MANUFACTURING

Food and beverage manufacturing and processing for specified classifications. Meat, Fish, Poultry, Seafood Processing or Curing, Meat Packing Houses/Plants and Rendering Works operations must be approved for operation either by Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) under jurisdiction of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) or by an equivalent state or federal regulation and inspection program.

FORECLOSURE / EVICTION CLEANUP

Preparing homes, condominiums, apartments and commercial buildings for sale or rental, after the prior owner or tenant has vacated the premises due to foreclosure or eviction. Services typically include removing remaining belongings and trash, general cleaning and other incidental services, such as, cosmetic repairs, wall painting, removal and/or installation of new carpeting, floor refinishing, and landscape maintenance.

HOME HEALTH CARE

Businesses that supply professional and non-professional home health care services or miscellaneous services to individual residential locations. Professional Services are those provided by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Licensed Counselors, Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN), Physical Therapists, and Registered Nurses (RN). Non-Professional Services are those provided by Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Homemaker Health Aides, Nurses’ Aides, Nursing Assistants—Registered (NA/R), Patient Care Assistants, Social Workers, State Tested Nurse Aides (STNA), Student Nurses, and similar services. Miscellaneous Services are those provided by Babysitters, Errand Service, Homemaker Aides (not Homemaker Health Aides), Mail Pick-up, Nannies and Shopping Service.

HUNTING CLUBS, PRESERVES, AND SHOOTING RANGES

Applicable to hunting/shooting clubs, hunting preserves and shooting ranges. Shooting ranges may include indoor or outdoor, private or public, archery, pistol, rifle, skeet and trap shooting. Landowners who allow hunting on their properties by hunt clubs or individuals should be rated as hunting preserves.

LANDOWNERS

Vacant Land
     Vacant land is defined as land with no development, no infrastruture, no
     existing occupied buildings, no events held on the property, and no operations
     conducted, comtemplated or completed on the land.
Real Estate Development Property
     When the insured is the owner of the property on which real estate development
     is occurring.  The general contractor hired must provide evidence of insurance
     naming our insured as an additional insured on their policy.  The general
     contractor should hold our insured harmless
Land Lease to Others
     Teant use of land can be for grazing, hunting, camping, fishing, parking, farming,
     cross-country skiing, strip mining, quarries, etc.  The tenant should provide
     evidence of insurance to the owner, and include the owner as an additional
     insured.

LANDSCAPING

Landscape gardening, lawn care services, and sprinkler installation and maintenance as primary operations. Including incidental tree trimming services (15% or less of total sales). Medical equipment dealers, including rental and leasing services, whose primary business is the rental and sale of home health care products to consumers. Typical items for sale or rental would be bed pans, braces, canes, cervical collars, crutches, heating pads, hospital beds, nebulizers, oxygen equipment and tanks, lift chairs or hoists, plastic or rubber sheeting, traction apparatus, trusses, vaporizers, walkers, and wheelchairs.

MOBILE HOME PARKS & CAMPGROUNDS

OFFICE BUILDING

Owner-occupied office buildings and office space leased to the insured for on-premises exposures only.

OUTFITTERS AND GUIDES

Guide services for hunting, fishing, hiking, backpacking, or cross country skiing. Outfitting operations that provide outdoor equipment and supplies without guiding are also eligible. Application – Outfitter Guide App

OWNERS / TENANTS PROTECTIVE

This product is designed to cover the interests of an entity entering into a contract with a general contractor to develop land or renovate an existing location. Application - Owner's/Tentants Protective

PARKING LOT/DRIVEWAY

Parking lot, driveway or sidewalk cleaners/sweepers, paving/repaving and maintenance involving operations such as: oiling, seal coating, stripe painting and snow/ice removal. PAWN SHOP Operations lending money on articles of personal property left as security or purchasing personal property for resale.

PRESSURE CLEANING

Contractors engaged in the high pressure cleaning of sidewalks, driveways, outside surfaces of dwellings, commercial buildings, mobile equipment, building interiors and autos away from owned or leased premises. Sandblasting with abrasive material, including but not limited to sand, steel shot, corncobs, walnut shells and CO2, on or away from insured premises.

PUSH CART / FLEA MARKET VENDOR

RECYCLER

Material recovery facilities where aluminum, copper, clothing, glass, paper, plastics, rags and electronic devices (i.e. computers, televisions, monitors, and etc.) are separated from refuse, sorted and sold to others for processing.

RESTAURANT / DELI

Food service establishments, dine-in or take-out. Application – Bars and Restaurants

SECURITY AND PATROL

Security guard and patrol services (including off-duty police officers) providing armed or unarmed security personnel, with or without animals, and firearms training/certification schools. SHOPPING CENTER

Lessor’s risk exposure on strip shopping centers. To qualify, the centers must have at least five stores and 25,000 square feet or more for automobile parking at each location.

SWIMMING POOL CONTRACTORS, DEALERS, AND INSTALLERS

Contractors whose primary job is construction, excavation, installation, service, repair or renovation of in-ground or above-ground swimming pools, hot tubs and spas.

SWIMMING POOL MAINTENANCE

Accounts providing routine maintenance, servicing, pool openings and closings and cleaning of swimming pools, hot tubs and spas. Maintenance is limited to routine chemical application and minor repairs. Retail store exposures must be separately classified and rated.

SWIMMING POOL MANAGEMENT

Primary operation is providing lifeguard services, swimming instruction and CPR training for pool owners. All lifeguards and instructors must be American Red Cross (or equivalent) certified. For independent swim instructors, complete the Exercise and Health Studio and Personal Trainer Application

TANNING SALON

Tanning salons, including spray-on tanning, and tanning operations in connection with other operations.

Tattoo and Body Piercing Applies to risks who use an electrically driven needle to insert colored dyes under the human skin to form pictures and/or words of the customer’s choosing.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS – COMMERCIAL

TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

Coverage applies to non-emergency vehicle transport of the public. It also applies to limousine services, pedicabs, airport shuttles and taxicab companies.

TREE TRIMMERS

Tree Trimmers and arborists who plant, transplant, prune, fertilize, apply pesticides, brace, and remove trees as their primary operations. Incidental snow removal is allowed for an extra charge.

VACANT BUILDING

WAREHOUSE

Warehouse operations—private, public and mini-warehouses. Coverage is not intended for private warehouses that have other exposures, such as, manufacturing, public showrooms, retail or wholesale store operations that are conducted at the same designated location.Application - Warehouse

WELDING

Welding contractors doing welding or cutting for others, with no more than 15% of receipts from metal erection and/or machinery/equipment installation, servicing or repair. Manufacturing operations are prohibited.Application – Welding and Machinery Equipment Application

WIND AND SOLAR ENERGY

To provide coverage for specialized wind and solar energy contractors, and wind and solar energy generating facilities. Coverage is available for the following:
  • Solar Energy Contractors

    There are two basic types of solar power: Photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal. Operations would include the installation or maintenance of solar apparatus (i.e., mount solar panels; install storage tanks, pumps, valves, pipes and ducts; connections to buildings and/or electrical grid).

  • Solar Energy Systems

  • Solar Energy Equipment Dealers or Distributors
    • Wind Turbine Contractors—on-shore

      Operations would include the installation or maintenance of “small” wind turbine/tower structures that produce less than 100 kilowatts (kW) of power for residential or small commercial buildings (i.e. site preparation; build foundation; install tower, wind turbine, gear box, blades and etc.; connect to buildings and/or electrical grid).
